Prairie Burns!

December 1 was the first possible day for a prairie burn and it happened! The South Prairie grasses provided quality fuel for the flames. Those forbs were a bit more finicky (and damp), resisting combustion. For more information about prairie burns and other invasive species management techniques, see the Invasive Species web page.
