Share your Love of the Outdoors with Children!

Volunteer educators make our programs happen! We depend on our volunteer educators to lead small groups of children in outdoor explorations and learning activities designed by their teachers. More details about volunteering at LREC can be found here.

While we welcome new volunteer educators at any time of year, we’ll be starting a volunteer training session this January and February, so this is a great time to join us!

You do not need any specialized skills or knowledge to be a volunteer educator, we just ask that you enjoy working with kids, enjoy being outside in all types of weather, and embrace the chance to make learning opportunities out of changing conditions.

We’ll be offering volunteer educator training sessions on Monday afternoons in January and February.  Please plan to attend all four sessions as each will cover different topics.

Mondays, 12:30-3:30pm

  • January 22: Orientation
  • January 29: Place Based Learning
  • February 5: Curriculum Connections: Living Things
  • February 12: Curriculum Connections: Earth Processes
